24 hour charity stream for British Red Cross COVID-19 appeal

Next Wednesday at 12pm, we’ll be going live with our 24 hour charity broadcast in partnership with the British Red Cross Operation COVID-19 appeal. The broadcast will run on, from noon until noon, finishing on Thursday 21st.

We’ll be raising money to support the Red Cross’ efforts to help the NHS treat higher volumes of patients, provide the most vulnerable with food and medicine, and offer emotional support to those suffering from the effects of isolation and economic hardship.

The 24 hours will include contributions from across the UK university esports community including:

  • The famous/infamous Oli and Chazmaster Annual University Esports Award Ceremony
  • Informative talks and interviews with the Red Cross, Twitch, British Esports Association, and G-Science
  • Speed runs by students in a range of games
  • Overwatch with top streamer Holiwhirl
  • Student Valorant showmatch in partnership with UK University Valorant
  • Community League of Legends with Lina
  • Horror game playthroughs (in the graveyard slot, appropriately)
  • Valorant with Krumbzy and OrganisedTV
  • Hearthstone with Rank 1 EU battlegrounds streamer SirSalty

And a lot more, plus a bunch of incentives that we’ll be announcing over the next few days!

Donations are now open here!

The charity stream will mark the end of the NUEL Operation: Hand Wash, a campaign we’ve run over the last four weeks to give students more chances to game together during the lockdown. Thank you to the 700+ players who took part: we hope you had a great time. We’ve had a blast running everything from LoL and CS:GO to Minecraft and Tabletop Simulator!

In time with exam season, our activities will take a short pause while we prepare for our Summer season, which will start in full force in the first week of July. Look out for more details soon!
