The NUEL is looking for a website designer to work on an upcoming project for our online platform thenuel.com. We host some of the largest university esports tournaments in the world and work with major industry partners, this makes having a well designed platform critical to the success of our activities, partners and student societies involved. Our current design is looking dated and untidy so it’s in need of an update.

We’re looking for someone who understands web based design principles and how to create beautiful and functional designs. We’d like to work with someone who has experience in this field whether that’s through commercial or academic work, what interests us the most is understanding your process behind your work. Our current project is to redesign some of the key pages on thenuel.com.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with The NUEL’s Product Manager to understand our requirements
  • Produce wireframes and visual designs

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in web based design
  • Experience using tools to create professional designs (e.g. photoshop)
  • Ability to work remotely and align with UK times
  • Ability to work in an iterative team
  • Ability to take onboard suggestions and feedback
  • Good communication skills

Nice to have:

  • Competed in The NUEL’s tournaments
  • Active member of the university esports scene (e.g. involved in your society)

We’re ideally looking for a freelance contractor and fees will be agreed upon before work starting.
