UPDATE – we’ve found our new CS:GO Team Leader, thanks to everyone who applied!
What will the CS:GO Team Leader do?
We’re looking for someone to take our CS:GO community to the next level. Our CS:GO tournaments, stream, content, social media and anything else we do around CS:GO will be your responsibility, so we’re looking for someone who can lead a team, work as a team and really care about our community. You’ll make up part of our Leadership Team, it’s fairly rare we advertise for such senior positions outside the org so we’re looking for someone committed to the cause.
It’ll be your job to inspire, coordinate and manage everything that we do around Counterstrike, you’ll be working with our resident experts and the teams doing the work to ensure student CS:GO players have the best possible experience whilst at university. In particular you’ll need to have:
- Strong leadership
- Great teamwork
- Willingness to learn
- Good organisational skills
- Passion for CS:GO and the university scene
Other experience that would be useful:
The following aren’t essential but would really benefit your ability to do this role:
- Lead a CS:GO team / organisation in the past
- Been involved with one of the following: running a tournament, being on stream, producing content
- Played in the NUEL or been involved with your university’s esports/gaming society
Type of people we’re looking for
It’s incredibly important to us that we work with people we can trust and share our passion for UK university esports. This isn’t some group coursework project where people can expect everyone else to do the hard work so they can take the credit, we want people who are going to bring something to our organisation and community. We want people to enjoy the work they do and the people they work with, you need to be a team player who wants to see their team, the organisation and most important the community, succeed.
What we can offer
We’re fortunate to have such a large community and the recognition that goes with that, we’ve had several people now who have moved on from the NUEL to paid jobs within esports which is awesome. We work with some of the biggest names in the industry who not only recongise our work but actively work with us on projects, giving our volunteers real word experience with the industry pros and having the opportunity to meet the people who make esports work behind the scenes. Not everyone moves onto their dream esports job but we do our best to make sure that the experience you have on our team is worthwhile and good fun along the way!
